pdf  Creating an European Citizens House (May 2012) - ENFR version

This recent report presents the project and current state of play as well as providing some indications of next steps. These could be considered especially by the European Parliament which is looking at plans for the European year of citizens in 2013 and the future of the European budget.

This shows how this project started with a survey resulting in 92% of respondents approving the idea with useful indications of priorities and many suggestions. It is also a useful source of knowledge about how to adapt the model of the resource centre to the European level and how the EU Commission and European Parliament have reacted.

This is an internal document and framework for current operations It describes the thinking behind citizens house,eu and how this could be a win-win formula for citizens and EU institutions alike. It then looks to future developments and how to bring the house into existence at national level by bringing together European expertise, civil society development and citizens’ rights, central and decentralised development is being run in parallel.

Further background reading can be found in the report of the September event and the synthesis report of the Carrousel project and national reports of the citizens panels in Budapest, Sofia, Paris and Warsaw.
